Lost and Found - What we Do
- Purpose of the Lost & Found
- Our main goal is to get lost items back to their owners as quickly as possible.
- Scope of Lost Items
- The lost and found has over 3,000 items including:
- Makeup
- Basketballs
- Watches
- Clothes
- What happens to lost items?
- Items are held for the month in which they arrive plus 60 extra days.
- Items that are not returned during this time period will go to one of three places:
- Deseret Industries
- different schools and organizations as donations
- or they will be held for our yearly sale
- Employees are not allowed to take any of the items that the Lost & Found receives - even after the time period has expired.
- Yearly Lost & Found Sale
- Held once a year in the WSC Ballroom - usually in September.
- The sale is open to BYU students and to the community.
- Since this is a community event, sales tax is charged.
- All proceeds go toward student programs.
- What you need to Retrieve a Lost Item
- To retrieve a lost item, the owner of the item must present a picture ID.
